Warrensville Heights - Montana Allmond, a former Garfield Heights councilman who was the first black man to hold public office in that Cleveland suburb, died Sunday, the day after his daughter's funeral.

The 75-year-old Warrensville Heights resident was hospitalized with multiple ailments at Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center for more than two months before his daughter, Tanya, 55, died of complications from a stroke on Feb. 10.
